Ed McMahon is 85 years old. The longtime pitchman and Johnny Carson’s old sidekick defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans on his Beverly Hills estate with a unit of Countrywide Financial Corp. His spokesman said:
McMahon fell and broke his neck about 18 months ago and has been unable to work since. "The ideal situation would be that he would be healthy and able to earn a living to pay for his house."
Why does an 85-year old need to work to make mortgage payments?

Too bad for Ed. Man, where did the money go. If was not for housing tanking, we would have never heard of this. If the market had keep going up, he would have just sold the house and no one would have been wiser.
