Grady Sizemore Cries Foul Over Photos He Took of Himself

Boo hoo, but actually kind of funny in a lame, pathetic way. Major League Baseball player Grady Sizemore took ”personal” (steamy, racy) photos of himself. Now the photos are all over the internet and Mr. Sizemore has the lawyers of Major League Baseball chasing down all the websites demanding the photos be removed. Photos are staying up at deadspin.com (warning: not safe for work for many workplaces) which I give credit to for not caving.

Sizemore, center fielder for the Cleveland Indians, salary was $4,766,666 last year yet called in a posse of MLB lawyers. MLB lawyers are lame to waste their time on a sophomoric act gone wrong. Anyone who thinks digital photos don’t circulate, has rocks for brains.

Too Bad: No Clothes, No Ultimate Frisbee

Five players on the University of Oregon Ultimate Frisbee team played without pants and underwear. Now their season has been cancelled by a five-member student board.

Team co-captain was only slightly apologetic:

Speeding, drinking, nudity — they’re not bad things. They’re things a big portion of the community doesn’t think are wrong.

To run around naked is just kind of a hippie, ultimate thing. We didn’t think there was anything wrong at the time.

“We put on the longest shirts we had,” pleaded one player.

I didn’t even know that Ultimate Frisbee was an intercollegiate sport.

Proposal to Ban Nudity in Parks Dropped

Seattle Naked Bike Ride, one of the World Naked Bike Ride events, nearly caused the city of Seattle to officially ban nudity in parks. Fortunately, the city came to its senses and dropped the plan. Whether in pursuit of more important matters or because of much of the Seattle public supports its naked bicyclists, we’ll never know.

Seattle police received six measly complaints from the July 2008 ride. It’s unfortunate that people can file complaints, but cannot file support for such incidents.

Nude Publicity Stunt

A fun publicity stunt by Lush Cosmetics in Seattle’s downtown retail core sure beat the usual panhandlers, activists and sample giver-outers. Wearing only aprons to barely cover up their wares, the ladies were unfortunately shut down by police after generating much attention from the media and amused onlookers.

Ironically, they were handing "out literature promoting their unpackaged soaps and cosmetic products and pointed out the impact that packaging used by other brands has upon the environment." But I don’t think anyone cared they were killing trees to promote that they don’t kill as many trees or use as much plastic in their packaging.

Painted Cyclists and Naked Bicyclists are Not Lame!

The Painted Cyclists are part of what makes the Fremont Solstice Parade the best parade in the universe. They paint their naked or nearly naked selves and ride bicycles in the parade. Bold, bare and having fun.

Lame: Trouble for Nude Swims At City Pool

A Seattle nudist group is having difficulty holding a monthly nude swim at a city pool (link has 2 well-shot photos). Lamelist considers the general state of undress to be fun and harmless, especially when it comes to skinny dipping. I hope the city straightens out this issue and the nude swims continue as a regular event.

Not Lame: Nude Olympic Torch Run!

For all the news stories about the controversy and protests over the Olympic Torch run in San Francisco today, I nearly missed this this gem of a story about a nude olympic torch run after the official run. Gotta love San Francsico! Even if this is a made-up story, it’s too cool to pass up.

Streaking and Cricket
